Italian DPA releases GDPR Guide

On 28 April 2017 the Italian Data Protection Authority released a Guide for the implementation of the General Data Protection Regulation (Guida all’applicazione del Regolamento europeo in materia di protezione dei dati personali).

The Guide provides an overview of the main aspects that should be considered with regards to EU Regulation 2016/679 before it is implemented on 25 May 2018 and provides specific recommendations for action that can already be taken by businesses and public entities.

The text is divided into six thematic sections including: Lawfulness of processing, Information notice, Data subject’s rights, Controller, processor and persons authorised to process personal data, Accountability, and Transfer of data and illustrates what will change with respect to current Italian data protection legislation.
